ADVAIR & SEREVENT
On August 14, 2003, the FDA released warnings for GlaxoSmithKline drugs Advair and Serevent, both of which contained containing salmeterol, a bronchodilator used to treat asthma and emphysema.
This warning was based on a 28 week study that showed a significantly higher risk of life-threatening asthma attacks or asthma-related deaths when taking Serevent.
